Inspired by the first herb that I worked with......Milk Thistle
 
Long ago, before I stepped onto the path of plant medicines, I was very ill.  One day a sudden though floated into my awareness and this was the idea that if I could help the major systems of my body (I was thinking liver at the time), that it would free up other energy for my body to be able to put it's energy towards shifting what was going on with me autoimmune wise.  I suddenly thought of milk thistle and began working with her.  My idea showed to be correct, which I realize now probably wasn't my idea at all, but that of Milk Thistle introducing herself, and within a few months of working with this profound plant, the balance shifted and my body (and the rest of me) began to change in a direction of greater wellness. Milk Thistle was my first plant and she will always have a very special place in my heart.  I still call upon her from time to time and hold her in the highest reverence.  She is an herb that supports the liver, and also helps us with our relationship with anger....and our life purpose.  
 
The Milk Thistle Faerie House is hand crocheted and constructed out of 100% cotton, with a touch of 100% wool and filled with a poly fiberfill. While I would have loved to fill with natural wool, the synthetic fill will ward off insects who might otherwise make their home within the faerie house and it also keeps the material costs down.
 
The Milk Thistle Faerie House stands about 9.5 inches tall  and is about 6 inches in its bottom circumference. It took approximately 26 hours to create.  It is adorned with two milk thistles (Silybum marianum) on the top along with prickly leaves. On the back are two milk thistles bursting into seed and wafting around the faerie house. The side of the house has two River Teacher ( Psilocybe ovoidosystidiata) mushrooms standing near the window.  

Milk Thistle (Silybum marianum) is often utilized as a liver supporting herb.  She can be a bit pushy, but sometimes pushy is what is needed. Caution should be used when working with Milk Thistle, as she stimulated CYP450, which can have negative effects for those on certain medications.
River Teacher (psilocybe ovoideocystidiata)  is a psychadelic mushroom containing psilocybin.It is known to be found in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Ohio, and West Virginia.  This mushroom bruises blue when handled. 
 
This is not a toy. It is a display piece that may be placed in the Home, office, clinic space or upon an altar.
 
The proceeds from the sale of this will be split three ways. 1/3 will be put back into purchasing fibers to continue making more fairy houses, 1/3 will go into a fund for people with Lyme disease to obtain education & support, and 1/3 will be put into a fund for me to travel to go visit & finally meet my brand new granddaughter Muriel in Florida.
