Lyme Myths Dispelled

Myth: Lyme doesn't exist in California (or enter any other place one might say).

Truth: Lyme is found in all 50 states. Sometimes it is not called Lyme, but something else, such as Master's Disease.

Myth: Lyme & Co can only come from ticks.

Truth: Lyme & Co can come from ticks, mosquitoes, chiggers, lice, fleas, congenitally, sexually, through breastmilk, and possibly through saliva. Different microbes have different vectors of transmission.

Myth: A tick must be attached for 24,28,72 hours to transmit microbes.

Truth. Transmission can occur in 15 seconds.

Myth: There is no such thing as chronic Lyme.

Truth: Chronic Lyme is real. It is often diagnosed as some of the autoimmune conditions.

Myth: Lyme can be cured with a round of antibiotics.

Truth: There is no cure for Lyme disease.

Myth: You cannot heal from Lyme & Co.

Truth: You can live healthy with Lyme & Co.
